Norfolk Southern EMD Locomotives - SD60I

All of Norfolk Southerns SD60I's (6717-6762) are former Conrail units. The main identifying feature of an SD60I is the vertical line on the cab nose where a rubber gasket isolates (hence the 'I' on SD60I) the cab from the frame to reduce virbrations in the cab, improving crew comfort by reducing noise.

NS 6728 lead NS train 185 westbound on 7 April 2002. It passed me at Pembroke, VA while I was on the other side of the New River catching a UP SD70M in the consist of a coal train. After the coal train cleared the crossing, I chased train 185 west and caught it from several angles at several different locations between Pearisburg and Bluefield.
