Norfolk Southern Class H58 Hoppers

The H58 class of five-bay, ten-panel rapid discharge aluminum bodied hoppers in NS series 390500-390589 were built by Trinity in 1996. These cars were purchased to supplement the H56 cars in service to Georgia Power. These 286K GRL cars have a 53'1" outside length and a 4074 cu. ft. capacity. Although built to the same general design as the H56 cars, they have two fewer side ribs (some of which are wider), and have a larger inside width but a slightly (fraction of an inch) shorter height.
