Norfolk Southern Class H55R Hoppers

Norfolk Southern has 10 class H55R hoppers in series NS 300000-300009. These cars are were rebuilt (12-93 and early 1994) by Johnstown America with aluminum bodies. Hopper chutes and doors are either 3CR12 stainless steel or aluminized steel. The cars were rebuilt from a variety of former Southern cars. These cars have a stencilled capacity of 3950.
