Norfolk Southern Class G113 Gondolas

After evaluating the four G109A/G109B cars, Norfolk Southern placed an order for 1200 production hybrid BethGon II coal gondolas from FreightCar America in 2006. Constucted of steel, aluminum (end sheets, and upper half of side sheets) and stainless steel (tubs and lower half of side sheets).

At this writing in September 2007, production of this class was still in progress.
