Circus Cars

These images were taken as the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus train passed through Singer, VA on 23 April 2001.

Thanks to Rhett Coates for providing historical and current information on the cars.

RBBX 40013 RBBX 40013 was formerly Union Pacific sleeper "American General".

RBBX 42110 Circus Coach RBBX 42110 was originally a 10-6 sleeper built in 1950 by Pullman as C&O 2603 "City of Mount Hope". It later became B&O 7050 "Allegheny", and went under the Amtrak banner as AMTK 2805 Allegheny.

It was acquired by the Circus in 1978 and later became part of the Blue Unit Circus Train. The show's Year 2005 roster of equipment shows that this car has now, sadly, been scrapped.

RBBX 43009 RBBX 43009 was previously coach ("seat car") UP 5488.

RBBX 60001 RBBX 60001 was formerly baggage/storage car UP 5749.

RBBX 80707 RBBX 80707 was formerly GTW 303461.

RBBX 84801 COFC flat car RBBX 84801 is the former GTW 304235.
