A remote grade crossing near where Walker Creek empties into the New River
provides the only public location to reach the tracks between Pembroke and
Ripplemead.
A Burlington Northern whiteface SD40-2 was on the front of a coal train parked on the main 2 track, forcing westbound train 17M to use main 1. These pictures demonstrate the view in both directions at the grade crossing.
