Plum Creek << East << RADFORD >> West >> New River
Radford has a decent sized yard and is the home base for several locals that serve the New River Districts. The west end of the yard is easily and safely viewed from the municipal parking lot in downtown Radford.

Currently train V38 delivers incoming loads and returning empties for the other locals to distribute, returning outgoing cars to Roanoke. It usually operates after dark.

From July through December 2004, train 15T dropped off cars at Radford most evenings, often after dark, while train 111 picked up outgoing cars as necessary a few days a week. Between January 2003 and July 2004, this work was performed by train 162 (picked ups) and 163 (set outs). Before 2003, the set outs were done by train 112.
