Westbond train 112 nears the array of track sensors just east of the New River Road grade crossing in July 2005. The two tall poles detect high/wide loads, used most often to inform trains with double stack loads that they will need to use the 'stack route' at Montgomery. The dark sensors on the ties between the poles detect dragging equipment and hot bearings. The white box on the foreground pole is an Automated Equipment Identification (AEI) tag scanner that reads RF tags on every freight car for shipment tracking and other purposes.
