Singer (East) GREEN HILL (West) Elliston
Technically within the town of Elliston, the signals and TSA at milepost N 275.9 are called Green Hill by the railroad. The tracks directly parallel US 460 just east of the signal bridge.

Circus Train
The Circus Train makes its only appearance of the year, on a rainy 17th of April 2006.
It was also photographed at the Montgomery Tunnels.

Train 17M at Cove Hollow Road on two different days in December 2005. First is a brand new pair of primer GEVOs with a bunch of grey hoppers. Next is the usual pair of Dash 9-40CWs with BN and SP power and more colorful mix of freight cars.

In June 2004, train 147 passes a barn from which O. Winston Link photographed steam a half-century previous.

Train 162 nears the end of its trip as it heads toward Roanoke with an unpatched CNW locomotive in its consist in May 2004. Later that day, train 185 heads west with Union Pacific SD70M 4510 leading the way. Less than two weeks earlier, the same UP motor was seen leading train I2A at Cambria.

Although the sun was shining, rain was just starting to fall as train 147 with UP 2002 crossed Cove Hollow Road in May 2004.
This train was also photographed at Singer, Shawsville, Montgomery Tunnels and Cambria.

Train 15T passes under the Green Hill signal bridge in May 2003. The silver pole hanging down between the tracks from the bottom of the signal bridge is the TSA - it detects high loads to protect the tunnels at Montgomery.
