The photo opportunities in Glenvar are very limited, with the tracks mostly inaccessible behind industries and private property. Just west of Glenvar, the Barley Road greade crossing provides a convienent location for photography.

NS serves a large Koppers tie treatment plant in Glenvar.

In January 2004, train 125 rolls by the Porterfield signals under the shadow of Poor Mountain. This train was also photographed at Green Hill.

Train 18M stops short of the grade crossing to insepct a possible defect with one of the freight cars, then resumes its journey in May 2003. This train was also photographed at Friendship Road. Some roster shots of the horsehead unit can be found over on Joe's Railroad Images website.
