Berea Road << East << CROCKETT >> West >> Rural Retreat
Crockett is a small town located just northeast of Rural Retreat. Before the North Carolina branch extension was built out of Galax, Va, Crockett was the place where much of the iron ore mined in the region was transloaded to the N&W. In 1998, just west of Crockett, Norfolk Southern built a passing siding, the longest on the Pulaski Subdivision.
