Just west of where the Whitethorne District tracks cross under Interstate 81, the Bradshaw Spur diverges and heads up the Bradshaw Valley.
With the tiered rock cut for the Bradshaw Spur connection in the backround, empty hopper train 757 rolls west during a February 2006 snowstorm less than a day after a derailment shut down the Christiansburg District.
A rare westbound on this stretch of track, SD40-2 6158 on work train 930 crosses Bradshaw Creek and Northfork Road just southwest of the junction with the Bradshaw Spur, barely visible in the background underneath the bridge.
